WHAT ARE Muscle-relaxing injections?
These injections are composed of a natural, purified protein. When injected into specific facial muscles, wrinkle-causing muscles are relaxed to reduce dynamic lines and create a younger, softer, and natural-looking appearance.
HOW DO Muscle-relaxing injections work?
Muscle-relaxing injections inhibit the transmission of neurotransmitter from the nerve to the muscle and stop the muscle from contracting and forming wrinkles. The fact that these injections also stop the constant compression of skin, they prevent the permanent ‘etching’ of wrinkles in the areas treated.
WHAT ARE THE MOST COMMON FACIAL AREAS TREATED WITH Musle-relaxing INJECTIONS?
These injections are most commonly used for treatment of frowns, forehead lines, and crow’s feet (around eyes).
We also use muscle-relaxing injections to treat gummy smile. These injections often used to reduce the hyper active Masseter muscle, the cheek muscle. Hyper active Masseter muscle resulted from Bruxism (teeth grinding) often is stress related. Bruxism cause breaking of teeth and dental restorations, shorten of front teeth, tension head ache, squarish face at the corner of the lower jaw. The symptom is the jaw more tired in the morning. These injections used here will reduce the Masseter muscle activity, relieving Tension head ache caused by stress related Bruxism, prevent shortening of teeth from grinding and make dental restorations last longer, plus at the same time give patient a slimmer face.
