All-on-4 Dental Implant Cost in Kempsey

All-on-4 Dental Implant Cost in Kempsey

If you are considering replacing a complete arch of teeth with dental implants, one of the first questions is understandably: How much does All-on-4 treatment cost?

The cost of full-arch dental implant treatment varies because not every patient requires the same treatment.

Although All-on-4 traditionally refers to a full-arch bridge supported by four implants, at Kempsey Dental Centre we may recommend 4, 5 or 6 implants, depending on your available bone, implant positions, bite and restorative requirements.

For this reason, an accurate cost can only be provided after appropriate assessment and treatment planning.

What Affects the Cost of All-on-4 Treatment?

Several components can affect the overall cost of full-arch dental implant treatment.

These may include:

  • the number of implants required
  • whether treatment involves the upper jaw, lower jaw or both
  • the number of teeth requiring extraction
  • whether bone grafting is required
  • whether soft-tissue or gum grafting is required
  • the type of temporary teeth
  • the design and material of the final bridge
  • the complexity of the surgery
  • additional procedures required for the individual patient

Two patients who both ask about “All-on-4” may therefore have quite different treatment plans and costs.

Does All-on-4 Always Mean Four Implants?

No.

The traditional All-on-4 concept uses four dental implants to support a complete fixed arch of replacement teeth.

However, full-arch implant treatment does not have to be limited to four implants.

Depending on the clinical situation, Dr Nathan Le may recommend four, five or six implants to support the full-arch bridge.

The number of implants is determined by the available bone, implant distribution, bite and planned restoration rather than simply choosing the lowest number of implants.

For more information about the treatment itself, please see our All-on-4 Dental Implants and Full-Arch Teeth page.

Are Temporary Teeth Included in the Treatment?

The temporary restoration is an important part of full-arch implant treatment.

In suitable cases, a temporary fixed bridge may be attached to the implants around the time of implant placement. This is sometimes described as immediate loading or “teeth in a day”.

However, immediate fixed teeth are not possible or appropriate in every case.

The type of temporary restoration required depends on the treatment plan and the clinical findings at surgery.

In some situations, a fibre-reinforced bridge may be used as an interim or longer-term temporary restoration.

Your written treatment plan should clearly identify the proposed temporary restoration and the associated costs.

What About the Final Full-Arch Bridge?

The temporary bridge and the final bridge are different stages of treatment.

After the implants have had an appropriate healing period and their condition has been assessed, the definitive full-arch bridge can be planned.

The cost can vary according to factors such as:

  • bridge design
  • restorative material
  • laboratory requirements
  • number and position of implants
  • individual bite and aesthetic requirements

When comparing advertised All-on-4 prices, it is therefore important to understand exactly what is included.

A price that appears lower may not necessarily include every stage from initial surgery through to the definitive bridge.

Are Extractions Included?

Some patients considering full-arch implants already have no teeth, while others still have multiple teeth that require removal.

The number and complexity of extractions can therefore affect the overall treatment cost.

We assess whether remaining teeth can reasonably be retained before recommending removal.

Where natural teeth have a reasonable prognosis, the alternatives to extraction should also be considered.

Does Bone Grafting Cost Extra?

Some full-arch cases can be planned using the patient’s existing bone and may not require extensive grafting.

However, All-on-4 does not mean bone grafting can always be avoided.

Depending on the individual situation, treatment may involve:

  • bone grafting
  • socket grafting
  • sinus grafting or sinus lift procedures
  • management of localised bone defects
  • soft-tissue or gum grafting

If additional procedures are recommended, they should be included and explained in your treatment plan.

Please see our Bone Grafting and Sinus Lift page for further information.

Why Is a CBCT Important Before Providing a Quote?

A clinical examination alone cannot provide all the information needed to plan implant surgery.

A CBCT scan provides a three-dimensional assessment of the jawbone and surrounding anatomical structures.

It helps us assess:

  • available bone height and width
  • potential implant positions
  • important anatomical structures
  • areas of bone loss
  • whether additional procedures may be required

Kempsey Dental Centre has in-house CBCT imaging and digital implant planning at our Kempsey practice.

This information allows us to prepare a more meaningful treatment plan rather than providing a generic price for treatment that may not suit your anatomy.

One Arch Versus Both Arches

Treatment of one complete arch is different from replacing both the upper and lower arches.

If both arches require treatment, the overall treatment plan becomes more extensive and may involve additional implants, surgery, temporary restorations and final bridges.

The timing of treatment may also differ depending on the individual situation.

We discuss whether treatment should be completed together or staged according to your clinical needs.

Why Do Advertised All-on-4 Prices Vary?

When comparing prices, it is important to compare like with like.

Ask whether the quoted price includes:

  • implant surgery
  • all implants required
  • extractions
  • bone grafting if required
  • temporary teeth
  • the definitive bridge
  • laboratory fees
  • imaging and planning
  • follow-up care

Also consider what type of final restoration is included and whether the advertised price applies only to straightforward cases.

The lowest advertised figure may not represent the final cost for an individual patient.

Will I Receive a Written Quote?

Yes.

After appropriate assessment and treatment planning, we can provide a written treatment plan outlining the recommended treatment and associated fees.

This gives you an opportunity to understand the proposed stages and ask questions before deciding whether to proceed.

There is no obligation to proceed with treatment simply because you have discussed your options with us.

Can Superannuation Be Used for All-on-4 or Dental Implant Treatment?

Some patients ask whether they may be able to access their superannuation early on compassionate grounds to help pay for dental treatment.

Early release of superannuation is subject to Australian Taxation Office (ATO) eligibility requirements and approval. Dental implant or All-on-4 treatment does not automatically qualify, and Kempsey Dental Centre cannot determine whether an application will be approved.

Where appropriate, we can provide patients with their dental treatment plan, quotation and relevant clinical information to support their application.

Patients considering early release of superannuation should check the current eligibility requirements directly with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and consider the financial implications of accessing retirement savings early.

Are There Alternatives to All-on-4?

Yes.

Depending on your circumstances, alternatives may include:

  • conventional full dentures
  • implant-retained removable dentures
  • a different number or arrangement of dental implants
  • retaining suitable natural teeth where possible
  • other staged restorative approaches

These options can differ considerably in complexity and cost.

The appropriate comparison is therefore not simply “All-on-4 versus nothing”, but which treatment options are reasonable for your particular situation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does All-on-4 cost in Kempsey?

The cost varies according to the number of implants, extractions, grafting requirements, temporary restoration, final bridge and whether one or both arches are being treated. An individual assessment is required before an accurate treatment plan and quote can be provided.

Is six implants more expensive than four?

Using additional implants can affect treatment costs, but implant number is only one component of the overall treatment. The number of implants should be based on clinical and restorative requirements rather than cost alone.

Is the final bridge included in an All-on-4 price?

This depends on the treatment provider and quotation. When comparing prices, check whether the advertised amount includes both the temporary restoration and definitive bridge. Our written treatment plan will identify the proposed stages and associated fees.

Will I need to pay extra for bone grafting?

If bone grafting or another additional procedure is required, this can affect the total treatment cost. The need for grafting is assessed during treatment planning and review of your CBCT.

Can I use my superannuation to pay for All-on-4 treatment?

Some patients may be eligible to apply for early release of superannuation on compassionate grounds for certain medical or dental treatment. Eligibility and approval are determined by the ATO and are not guaranteed. We can provide relevant treatment plans, quotations and clinical information where appropriate to support an application.

Is All-on-4 cheaper than replacing every tooth with an implant?

A full-arch bridge does not require an individual implant for every missing tooth. Instead, several implants support the complete bridge. However, treatment options and costs vary considerably, so comparisons should be based on an individual treatment plan.

Should I Choose All-on-4 Based on Price Alone?

Cost is an important consideration, but the treatment plan should also consider your available bone, oral health, bite, number and position of implants, bridge design, maintenance requirements and alternative treatment options.
